The Cumberland Mayor and City Council is scheduled to vote on appointments to various boards and commissions tonight- however the city officials will not be making an appointment to the Potomac Highlands Airport Authority. Councilwoman Nicole Alt Myers resigned from the PHAA two weeks ago- and since that time the Authority Members voted to revoke the city of Cumberland's right to appoint a member to the airport board.. The assignment to fill the vacancy will now be handled by the Allegany County Commissioners. Commissioner Bill Valentine tells WCBC News that the empty seat will still likely go to a City Council member or Cumberland resident. Commissioner Creade Brodie said recently the board was considering City Councilman Dave Caporale for the vacant seat.
