10:45 AM UPDATE:
The Cumberland Police Department is requesting motorist find an alternative route and stay away from the area of Park Street at Baltimore Street and Front Street at Baltimore Street. A large water main break has occurred and is effecting vehicular traffic in this area. Traffic in this area is being diverted at this time.
INITIAL REPORT
Allegany County 911 and eyewitnesses are telling WCBC that there is a major water main break in the area of Baltimore Street and North Waverly Terrace.
The break was reported just after 10 AM, and an eyewitness tells us that water is cascading down the hill in that area.
Cumberland water crews are responding and will attempt to make repairs as quickly as possible.
