City Make Theft, CDS Arrest

On Tuesday, officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to a business on Park St. for a shoplifting complaint. When officers arrived they met with loss prevention employees who informed them that they had observed Andrew Leese, age 28, Bedford, PA, steal items from the business.  Officers found that Leese had put several items in his pants and left the business before being confronted by loss prevention.  Leese was contacted by officers and placed under arrest for Petty Theft.  Upon searching Leese incident to arrest, officers discovered an amount of prescription medication on his person that was not prescribed to him. Leese was then transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where he was charged with Petty Theft and Possession of CDS not marijuana. Leese was then taken to District Court for his Initial Appearance and released on his Personal Recognizance.
