City Man Arrested In Gun Incident

On Saturday,  at approximately 1:49 a.m., a 19 year old male victim walked to Police Headquarters for file a complaint of assault against his father, Harold Morris.  The victim stated that he got into an argument with his father at which time his father told him to gather his belongings and get out.  The victim stated that Morris went to his bedroom and retrieved a handgun.  The victim stated Morris then pointed the gun at him and threatened to shoot him.  The victim stated that Morris then grabbed him by the wrist and pulled him out of the house.  Slight bruising was observed to the victim’s wrist.

 

Officers responded to the location of the incident, a residence located in the 500 block of Fayette Street and placed Morris under arrest.  A loaded handgun was also located inside the residence and was seized as evidence.

 

Morris was processed at Police Headquarters then taken to District Court for his initial appearance.  Morris was then held at the Allegany County Detention Center until he can be represented by his attorney.

 

The victim did not require medical treatment.

Harold Ivan Morris – age 50 – Cumberland, MD

 

Charges:

 

First degree assault, second degree assault and reckless endangerment.
