City Man Charged on Multiple Arrest Warrants

On Thursday, May 13th, 2021, the Cumberland City Police arrested Marley Zaire Powell, 27, of Cumberland MD. Powell was contacted at a Maryland Ave residence on this date and found to be wanted on five separate arrest warrants. The charges of each were as follows:

-Circuit Court Bench Warrant for failing to appear in court on 4/6/21 on a previous charge of felony 1st Degree Assault.

- Circuit Court Bench Warrant for failing to appear in court on 4/20/21 on a  previous charge of felony 2nd Degree Burglary.

-District Court Bench Warrant for failing to appear in court on 4/12/21 on previous charges of Theft and Trespassing.

-District Court Bench Warrant for Violation of Probation issued on 4/19/21 for failing to obey the terms and conditions of his probation set forth by the court. The original charges from which the probation arose include Robbery, Assault and Theft.

-District Court Arrest Warrant issued on 5/12/21 for an incident which occurred on 4/5/21 in the area of Greene St. During this incident, Powell was found to be in possession of a large quantity of suspected Heroin/Fentanyl. Charges for this incident include Possession with intent to Distribute Heroin/Fentanyl and Driving without a License.
