City Man Facing Animal Cruelty Charge

On Friday, November 27th, 2015 the Cumberland City Police served criminal summons on Joseph William Taylor III for animal cruelty.  Taylor was charged with one count of aggravated animal cruelty as the result of a combined investigation with the Cumberland City Police and the Allegany County Animal Control.  The incident was reported back on November 12th, 2015 concerning a dog known to be Taylor’s which was found deceased, wrapped in plastic, and discarded in a wooded area in the proximity of Taylor’s residence.  An examination of the dog revealed injuries consistent with information that Taylor allegedly beat the dog to death.  Taylor signed and received a copy of the charging documents and was released pending trial with the District Court of Allegany County.
