City man facing numerous charges

On Friday at 7:31 pm, Cumberland City Police officers responded to the 1000 block of Lafayette Avenue for an assault.  Investigation into this matter revealed that the Glenn Westfall, age 29 of Cumberland refused to let the victim leave as she was seated in her vehicle.  Westfall allegedly opened the car door and pushed the victim towards the passenger side of the vehicle and attempted to take the keys from the ignition to keep her from driving away.   The victim was able to call the police as Westfall fled the area but was located on Canal Parkway by officers and was placed in custody.  A search incident to arrest was conducted and a small amount of marihuana along with a smoking device was located.  Westfall was transported to the Cumberland Police Department for processing.  He was taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing and was held on a $10,000.00 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.   The victim did not require medical attention.

CHARGES:  Unlawful Detention, Reckless Endangerment, Assault 2nd Degree, Attempt to Obtain Unauthorized Possession of a Motor Vehicle, Theft Less than $100.00, Disorderly Conduct, Possession of Marihuana, Possession of Marihuana Paraphernalia.
