City Man Facing Numerous Traffic Offenses

On Monday  at 8:00 pm, a Cumberland City Police Officer observed a vehicle on westbound Industrial Boulevard at Springdale Street operating with defective illumination.  The officer attempted to the stop the vehicle but the driver, Andrew Russell, age 28 of Cumberland, refused to stop.  The officer observed numerous violations as Russell came to a stop on westbound Interstate 68.  Russell was placed in custody without incident.  He was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where he was charged as follows:

Exceeding max speed, Driving on suspended license, Driving without a license, Negligent driving, Fail to obey traffic control device, Unsafe lane change, Fail to stop a red signal, Driving on expired tags, Displaying plates issued to another vehicle, Failure to display two lighted lamps, Driver failing to stop upon approach by Police vehicle. Driver attempt to elude police.  Driving uninsured vehicle, Failure to yield right of way.  Russell was served and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.
