City Man Held After Alleged Burglary

On January 16th, 2021, The Cumberland City Police Dept. responded to a residence in the 300 block of Grand Ave for the report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim inside the residence. The victim advised officers that Frank Germaine MacDonald, 37, of Cumberland MD, had allegedly entered the home through a first floor window. Once inside the home, MacDonald initiated an argument with the victim and damaged property inside. MacDonald then fled the residence on foot prior to officer’s arrival. It was also learned at this time that MacDonald was prohibited from being at the residence due to an open Protective Order issued by Allegany County District Court. MacDonald was able to be located a short time later and taken into custody without incident. MacDonald was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He was held on a total of $10,000 bond.

Charges: Burglary 3rd Degree, Burglary 4th Degree, Malicious Destruction of Property, Violation of Prot. Order x2.
