City man will serve seven years for heroin distribution

The Office of the State’s Attorney for Allegany County, Maryland, Michael O. Twigg, State’s Attorney, announced: On Tuesday Allegany County Circuit Court Judge Tim Finan, sentenced Erik D. Baker, 28, of Cumberland, Maryland, to fourteen (14) years’ incarceration within the Division of Corrections, seven (7) of which were suspended; for a total period of seven (7) years actual incarceration. The sentence was the result of Baker’s guilty plea to charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin.  Upon release Mr. Baker will be on three (3) years of supervised probation. Prosecuting the case for the State was Assistant State’s Attorney Samuel Lane; Mr. Baker was represented by Sean Gallagher, Esq.
