City Police Arrest Somerset Man On Drug Charges

On Saturday, Cumberland City Police served a criminal summons on Mark Andrew Bockes, age 34 of Somerset, Pennsylvania, with charges related to an incident that occurred last month.. 

On April 13, 2018 officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to Weber Street for a suspicious complaint involving subjects sitting inside a parked vehicle.  Upon the officers arrival they contacted Mr. Bockes who was seated inside the vehicle.  While they were speaking with Bockes, the officers noticed him making furtive movements, as if he was trying to conceal something. 

Based on the officers observations a K-9 officer was called to the scene to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle.  The K-9 alerted to the presence of CDS at the rear passenger door.  A probable cause search was conducted and Bockes was found to be in possession of numerous schedule IV pills. 

Bockes was released from the scene on this date and charges were applied for at District Court.  Bockes was served on Saturday and released pending a trial date in District Court.

Charge: CDS possession other than marijuana and CDS remove prescription label.
