City Police Arrest Three

Officers from the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on David Martin Boyd and Crystal Nicole Rymer stemming from a June 19th incident.  On June 19th officers responded to a Maryland Avenue location for a report of an assault.  Officers arrived and made contact with Boyd.  Injuries were observed to Boyd but it was determined that the female subject had left prior to their arrival.  Officers located Rymer several streets away.  She also had marks to indicate that an assault occurred.  Both subjects had already separated and they were instructed to keep the peace.  Officers applied for charges at the District Court Commissioner’s Office based on the information above.  The warrants were issued and both subjects were located by officers at a Canal Street address.  Both subjects were taken before the District Court Commissioner where they were both released pending trial in District Court.

Officers located Rodney Lee Smith at a Virginia Avenue business.  The officer was aware that Smith had an outstanding arrest warrant for burglary. Smith was taken into custody without incident.  The warrant was issued after officers investigated a complaint of a burglary which occurred at a Grand Avenue residence.  A witness was able to identify Smith and the officer applied for charges at the District Court Commissioner’s Office.  Smith is currently at a hearing at District Court.
