City Police Arrest WV Woman on Theft, Arrest Warrants

On Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at approximately 7:30 PM, an officer from the Cumberland Police Department was patrolling the area of Queen City Plaza, when he was advised by a store manager that a female subject had just shoplifted from the store. 

The suspect, Dawn Newcomb, was located a short distance away from the store. After investigation, it was determined that Newcomb stole merchandise from the store. It was also confirmed that Newcomb had 4 active arrest warrants through the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office. She was arrested and transported to police headquarters. Newcomb was issued a criminal citation for the theft.  She was served with the warrants and taken to the District Court Commissioner’s Office where she was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a total bond of $23,500.

WARRANT #1:  Theft less than $100

WARRANT #2:  Theft less than $100, Obstructing & Hindering, CDS: Possess-Not Marijuana, CDS: Remove Prescription Label

WARRANT #3:  Theft less than $1,000 (x4)

WARRANT #4:  Driving Suspended/Revoked
