City Police Issues Citations For Shoplifting

On Tuesday, January 29th, 2019 the Cumberland Police Department responded to Save-A-Lot on Queen City Drive for a shoplifting complaint.  When the officer arrived, contact was made with a store employee who had tried to detain a female identified as Kayle Rachell Willison-Beal leaving the store without paying for merchandise but she fled from the store.  Willison-Beal was soon located by officers on N. Center Street and arrested for theft.  She was issued a criminal citation and released pending trial.

On Wednesday, January 30th, 2019 the Cumberland Police Department responded to the Virginia Avenue Sheetz in reference to a shoplifting complaint.  When the officer arrived, it was learned by Sheetz employees that a female suspect left the store with merchandise without paying for it.  The female then got into a vehicle and drove away.  A broadcast of the suspect vehicle was given to officers and another officer on patrol located and stopped the vehicle.  The female in question was identified as Paige Elizabeth Thompson.  Thompson was placed under arrest and charged with theft and disorderly conduct for her actions after being stopped.  She was issued criminal citations and released pending trial.

    Are these citations written with a cost due, as in a traffic stop? They should and then court should then make them make restitution with a penalty to the store as well.
