City Police Log Busy Friday

On April 5, 2019, at 7:04 pm, Cumberland Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Columbia Street for a disturbance. When they arrived they could hear loud music coming from inside the apartment building. Officers contacted the complainants and found that Michael Bergman, age 55 of Cumberland had been banging and kicking neighboring apartment doors as well as playing loud music. Officers contacted Bergman and advised him to keep the peace and stop creating a disturbance in the building. Bergman was further advised by officers if he continued to create a disturbance he would be subject to arrest.  Officers then cleared the scene and left the area. 

 

At 7:29 pm, officers were dispatched to the same location where again Bergman was creating a disturbance.  Officers contacted Bergman who was still being disruptive and creating a disturbance outside. Officer further learned that after leaving the first complaint, Bergman began yelling up and down the stairwells and continued to kick neighboring doors. At this time Bergman was placed under arrest for Fail to Obey, Disorderly Conduct, and Disturbing the Peace. Bergman was issued Criminal Citations and released pending trial.

  

 

On April 5, 2019, the Cumberland Police served Criminal Summonses on Trevor Griffin, age 20 of Cumberland, Kimberley Fetters, age 45 of Cumberland, Ronald Fetters, age 48 of Cumberland, and Kristen Fetters, age 24 of Cumberland.  The Summons stemmed from an April 2, 2019 investigation into possible child neglect.  At the conclusion of the investigation officers completed and submitted an application for charges in District Court.  Subsequently, Kimberly Fetters and Ronald Fetters were charged with Neglect of a Minor, Kristen Fetters was charged with two counts of Neglect of a Minor, and Trevor Griffin was charged with Neglect of a Minor and Contributing to the Conditions of a Child. All parties were served with Criminal Summons and released pending trial in District Court.
