City Police Make Assault Arrest

On Wednesday at 5:36pm Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to the area of Baltimore St near George St for a report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival officers contacted several subjects and identified the victim. The victim suffered several lacerations to the hand and arm which they advised resulted in being cut by a knife. A suspect was identified by the victim and witnesses and was identified as 41 year old Carl Bohrer of Cumberland. Bohrer was located on the scene and placed under arrest without incident. The victim declined medical treatment on scene. Bohrer was transported to Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with First and Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and Disorderly Conduct. Bohrer was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where he was held without bail pending his next court appearance.

On Monday, August 7th, 2017, the Cumberland City Police responded to 911 hang up call at a residence on South Waverly Terrance.  When officers arrived, contact was made with female who told officers that she was assaulted by her boyfriend, Justin Ray Harris.  The female stated that Harris dragged her down the steps by her hair, bit her hand, and threw her to the ground.  Officers were able to corroborate allegations made by the female and as a result, Harris was arrested.  He was transported to the Cumberland City Police Station for processing.  Harris was taken before the District Court Commission and released on his own personal recognizance pending trial.

Charge:  Assault 2nd.

Release personal recognizance.
