City Police Make Several Arrests & Serve Bench Warrant

On November 26, 2018 officers from the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Blakie Neil Jones II.  Jones was wanted in connection with an assault that took place in Frostburg, MD on November 19, 2018. Jones was processed and taken before the District Court Commissioner where he was released from custody pending trial in District Court.

On November 27, 2018 officers from the Cumberland Police Department served arrest warrants on Antionette Blank and Ashley Elizabeth Blank at their residence.  Both subjects were wanted in connection with the robbery that occurred on November 25, 2018 on Shawnee Avenue. Officers contacted both subjects at a residence where they believed John Phillip Blank Jr. fled to after the crime had been committed.  Officers heard the suspect inside and when they contacted both Antionette and Ashley at the door they provided officers false information about the location of the suspect. Officers gained entry into the residence while assisting the ambulance with an unrelated matter and observed John Blank Jr. inside.  He was taken into custody without. Additional investigation into the incident was conducted and it was later determined that Antionette and Ashley assisted in hiding stolen property from the robbery inside the residence. Both subjects were processed and taken before the District Court Commissioner where they were released pending a preliminary hearing in District Court.

Charges: Accessory after the fact: Robbery, Interfering with an arrest, Obstructing and False statement – Released PR  

Officers from the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on James Patrick Greaney for failure to appear.  Greaney failed to appear in District Court on March 12, 2018 to answer to a trespassing charge. Greaney was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was released pending trial in District Court.
