City Police Make Shoplifting Arrest

On Sunday at approximately 1:18 PM the Cumberland Police responded to a business on Queen City Drive for a shoplifting complaint.  Police learned a male subject had walked out of a store without paying for items and hid them near a garbage can and then walked back inside.  After leaving the store again the male collected the items and left the area.  A witness observed the subject in Butler Alley and police located him.  The suspect was identified as Jason Mark Garlitz.  Items from the store were located on Garlitz.  Police also found unpaid items from a second business in the area.  Garlitz was arrested and charged with Theft Less Than $100.  He was issued a criminal citation and released pending trial in District Court.

Jason Mark Garlitz, age:  25, Cumberland, MD

Charges:  Theft Less Than $100 X2
