City Police Make Warrant Arrest

On June 8th, 2018 the Cumberland Police arrested Tevon William Jones, age 19, of Cumberland, MD.  Jones had a warrant charging him with First Degree Burglary, Third Degree Burglary, Fourth Degree Burglary, Second Degree Assault, and Theft $100-$1500.  The warrant stemmed from an incident that occurred on the 100 block of N. Allegany St on April 12th, 2018.  The Cumberland Police were called to the residence for a report of a burglary.  Upon arrival officers spoke to the female victim who stated that a female and two males had forced their way into her apartment.  The suspects stole prescription medication and then fled the scene.  The victim identified one suspect.  Officers later located the suspect who was in the company of Jones.  Through the investigation, it was learned that Jones was one of the males who assisted in the burglary.  Charges were filed and a warrant was issued.  Jones was arrested and taken before the District Court Commissioner.  He was held on a Temporary Bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

On June 7th, 2018 the Cumberland Police arrested Rodney Montgomery Ross Jr, 42 years old, of Cumberland, MD on three outstanding arrest warrants.  Ross was charged with second degree assault, trespass on private property, and violation of a protective order.  These charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on May 21st, 2018 at a residence on the 500 block of Columbia Ave where Ross assaulted a female and violated the conditions of a protective order, which prohibited him from contacting the female and entering her property.  Ross was charged with two additional counts of violating the same protective order on two different occasions.   He was taken before the District Court Commissioner and is being held without bond.

On June 7th, 2018 the Cumberland Police arrested Harry Daniel Hupp, 57 years old, of Cumberland, MD.  Hupp had an active arrest warrant for Fail to Appear for a court date on June 4th, 2018.  Hupp failed to appear for a court date for a charge of Theft Less Than $100. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was released on his personal recognizance.

    Cumberland’s Grim future; Mr. Jones has a good 40 years of begetting and misbehaving in him while the other two are further along in their careers.
