City Police Respond to Disturbance on Frederick Street

On December 27, 2017 at 10:44 a.m., Officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 700 block of Frederick St. for a domestic disturbance.  Upon arrival officers contacted Christy Norris, age 42, of Cumberland, and another individual. Officers attempted to deescalate the situation and get all parties separated and calmed down. However, despite the efforts of the officers, Norris refused and continued creating a disturbance. Officer through the investigation contacted neighbors to confirm prior problems at the residence. While officers were attempting to do so, Norris continually refused to stop disrupting the neighborhood.  Norris was then arrested and charged with Disturbing the Peace, Failing to Obey, Harassment, and Racial and Religious Harassment. Norris was taken to the Cumberland Police Department where she was processed. She was later taken to District Court for her Initial Appearance where she was held on $4000 Bond.
