City Police Serves Warrants

On Tuesday May 25, 2017, Cumberland City Police served an arrest warrant on Brian Lindeman, age 26 of Cumberland.  The warrant was issued as a result of an assault investigation that officers responded to on May 23, 2017 at a private residence on Clement Street.  Investigation into this matter revealed that Lindeman engaged an argument with two other individuals inside the residence.  The argument escalated leading Lindeman to grab a knife and proceeded to swing the knife in close proximity of the two victims.  The knife was eventually removed by the victims.  No injuries were reported and medical assistance was not needed.  Lindeman was processed, served and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing.  He was held on a $15,000.00 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

CHARGES:  Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Possession of Dangerous Weapon, Disturbing the Peace (2 counts).

 

On Tuesday May 25, 2017, Cumberland City Police served an arrest warrant on James Welsh Jr., age 39 of Cumberland.  The warrant was issued as a result of a violation of a protective order investigation incident that occurred on May 20, 2017 where Welsh went to the petitioners residence on Union Street, took a quantity of currency and other personal items.  A short time later, the petitioner was in her vehicle where Welsh approached, reached in the car and damaged internal components to the vehicle as the petitioner drove away.  Welsh was processed, served and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing.  Welsh was held without bond.

CHARGES:  Theft less than $100.00 dollars, Violation of Ex-Parte (x3), Assault 2nd Degree, Destruction of Property,
