City Woman Charged With Resisting Arrest After Elder Street Incident

On Saturday December 3, 2016 at 4:55 pm, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to a private residence in the 200 block of East Elder Street for a disturbance.

Upon arrival, the officers observed three individuals engaged in a verbal argument. As officers settled the matter between two of the three parties, Detonia Degross continued to act in a disorderly manner. Degross was advised to lower her voice but she failed to comply and continued to argue. As a result, officers proceeded to arrest Degross but she pulled away from the arresting officer and attempted to walk away.

After a brief struggle, she was placed in placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where she was processed and served. Degross was taken the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing and was released on her personal recognizance pending trial.

CHARGES: Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Fail to Obey, Obstructing/Hindering.
