CIty Woman Charged With Using Counterfeit Bill

On Saturday, September 2, 2017, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Corinthia Carr.

The summons was issued in connection with an incident that occurred on August 18, 2017. On this date, police responded to M&T Bank for a counterfeit currency complaint. The officer contacted the victim who reported that Carr had owed her money. She stated that she met Carr at a business on Virginia Avenue and Carr gave her a $100 bill and requested $80 back. The victim explained that she gave Carr the $80 and later discovered that the $100 bill was counterfeit.

After investigation into the incident, charges were filed against Carr at the District Court of Allegany County. Carr was released pending trial after being served.

CHARGES: Utter Forged Currency, Theft less than $100
