City woman facing assault charges

On February 19, Cumberland City Police Department served an arrest warrant on Carinthia Diane Carr, age 23 of Cumberland, Maryland.   On February 18, 2015 officers responded to 307 Grand Avenue for an assault complaint.  During an investigation into the matter officers learned that Mrs. Carr was not wanted inside the Grand Avenue residence.  During an argument with the tenants, Mrs. Carr began to push and assault the male tenant.  As the male tenant was attempting to shut the door, Mrs. Carr kicked the door open, entered the residence and continued to assault the male tenant.  Mrs. Carr left the area prior to the police arriving.  As a result of this investigation officers filed an application for charges against Mrs. Carr at District Court.  A warrant was issued for Mrs. Carr’s arrest.  Mrs. Carr was processed, served and taken before the District Court Commissioner.  Mrs. Carr was held in the Allegany County Detention Center on $4,000 bond.

Charges: Breaking and Entering 2nd, 3rd and 4th Degree, 2nd Degree Assault.

 Cumberland Police Department Friday served a criminal summons on 28 year old Ina Porter of Cumberland. The charges stem from an investigation initiated on 06/19/14 in the 300blk of Columbia St when Officers responded to a residence in reference to an assault. The victim stated that they were pushed by Porter. There were no injuries as a result of the incident. Officers applied for charged through the District Court of Maryland resulting in the summons being issued. Porter was served the summons charging her with one count of Second Degree Assault and released pending trial in District Court.
