December 4th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

In offering clarification of the funding necessary for the proposed Maryland Avenue Revitalization Project-  Cumberland City Administrator Jeff Rhodes says the total cost of the project that will see some 60 homes purchased and demolished in the Rolling Mill section of town- will be somewhere between three and four million dollars. The city of Cumberland’s total investment will be an estimated $2.5 million, although there is the potential that that number will be lower. Rhodes said there are additional funding sources, including the possibility of state and county involvement. In addition the property will be sold to a developer which will help the city recoup some of its investment.
