In a rare split vote, the Allegany County Commissioners approved a revised capital improvement program allocating an additional one million dollars to the proposed new Allegany High School. The vote was 2-1 with Commissioners Mike McKay and Bill Valentine approving an amended motion that caps the total county commitment to the project at $9.2- although counting the school board funding and monies for demolition of the former Sacred Heart facility- total local dollars exceed $12 million.
