Commissioners Approve State Land Purchase Near Midland

October 27th, 2014 by WCBC Radio

The Allegany County Commissioners, by a 2-1 vote Thursday, approved a Rural Legacy Easement Purchase with the state of Maryland. The action will allow the county to sell approximately 43 acres of land on the western side of Dans Mountain near Midland to the state.  County Planning Director David Dorsey said the state funds associated with this grant will be used to acquire a development rights easement from the willing property owner of land within the designated Mountain Ridge Rural Legacy Area.
