The Allegany County Commissioners voted in early August to establish a new scholarship fund for 2014 for students wanting to attend Allegany College of Maryland. Led by Commissioner Bill Valentine, the scholarships will be funded through monies received from gaming operations at the Rocky Gap Resort and Casino. The number of scholarships available and the amounts have yet to be established, but Valentine says those details as well as the criteria are being worked out with the college…
