Commissioners Grant Tax Credit to AES Warrior Run

November 21st, 2012 by WCBC Radio

The Allegany County Commissioners last week granted a tax credit to AES Warrior Run Limited Partnership for equipment purchased in 2011. The exemption was for approximately $2.641 million according to County Attorney Bill Rudd. The exemption is a regular occurrence for the company’s capital investment in the coal-fired power plant in Allegany County. Rudd said that the company must still pay taxes on the first $50,000 of the property and that this doesn’t affect the company’s responsibility for real estate property taxes.
