Six months in the making, the Allegany County Commissioners made official on Thursday a change in the tax credit available for homeowners facing increased property tax assessments. The change was the ideal Commissioner Jake Shade, who said it will avoid problems of the past and help homeowners in the future. The tax credit currently takes effect when an assessment increases by 7 percent, with the change approved unanimously, that will reduce to 4%….
