Although no specifics were revealed, it appears as though the Allegany County commissioners were able to reach an acceptable compromise with the Maryland Historical Trust for the restoration of six columns in front of the Washington Street Library. County Commissioners President Jake Shade blasted the Trust earlier this month when he learned that a project he viewed as a simple paint job came with an estimated price tag of more than $200,000 from the Historical Trust . Shade pledged to get the local legislative delegation involved and to work toward a more reasonable price for the project.
