Commissioners Vote To Establish FSU Scholarship Fund

In August, the Allegany County Commissioners voted to establish a new scholarship fund for 2014 for students wanting to attend Allegany College of Maryland- and now there are plans to include Frostburg State University as well. There was brief discussion on the subject, which has been spearheaded by Commissioner Bill Valentine, during the regular weekly meeting.  The scholarships will be funded through monies received from gaming operations at the Rocky Gap Resort and Casino. He said the primary goal is to help local kids get a local education with the hope that they choose to remain in the area upon graduation…
