Commissioner says education budget complaints uncalled for

Allegany County Commission President Bill Valentine says complaints about budget cuts from the Board of Education unwarranted:

Although the county contribution did increase slightly from last year, the commissioners did slash $1 million from the board’s budget request. A caller to the Monday morning Dave Norman Program said she thought it would be better if local school system cuts would come out of the administration instead of the classroom…





The Allegany County Board of Education last week cut more than a dozen positions as a means to balance its budget.
