Congressman Bartlett Answers Question On Gay Marriage

Maryland Sixth District Congressman Roscoe Bartlett fielded questions for close to an hour Monday night in a unique candidate’s forum that featured only the incumbent. Bartlett’s democrat challenger John Delaney was invited to the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce/WCBC forum held at Allegany College – but declined the invitation, leaving the 20 year republican representative with the stage to himself. One of the first questions focused on the controversial issue of legalizing same sex marriage. It’s on the Maryland ballot next month. Bartlett, who is opposed to gay marriage, says it’s primarily a state issue, but he is personally opposed to it – believing that marriage is an institution between a man and a woman and should not be redefined…
