The Sullivan County Tennessee Board of Education voted May 8th to offer the job of director of schools to Allegany County School Superintendent Dr David Cox- however to date there have been no projected exit or start-up dates offered by officials from either county’s school system. The Allegany County School Board, other than a two sentence announcement on its website May 8th announcing that Cox had been offered the position, have made no comments about a timeline or the search process. According to media reports in Sullivan County, contract talks between the board there and Cox’s attorney began May 9th and apparently are ongoing.
