WCBC News has learned that Mark Fisher, 54, a candidate for Cumberland City Council. died yesterday.
Fisher was the owner/operator of Allegany Inspection Service, and had been involved in a very active campaign, attending and participating in meetings of both the Mayor and City Council and the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority just last week.
Fisher studied physics and engineering at Carnegie Mellon University and had also served as the chairman of the Cumberland Planning and Zoning Commission.
