County Among Highest Hotel Occupancy Rates in State

While many people think Baltimore's Inner Harbor or Ocean City when thinking tourism in Maryland, Allegany County, including Cumberland, is among the tops in the state in hotel occupancy rates- which is mostly attributable to the number of tourists visiting the area.  Western Maryland agricultural tourism such as wine festivals, bike riding, and farmers markets, which combines with attractions like the scenic rail road and the historic downtown mall to make for a diverse tourism industry.
