County Expected to Approve Contract Extension with DelFest

June 24th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

The Allegany County Commissioners on Thursday will officially approve a three year contract extension with DelFest officials- securing the popular festival at the County Fairgrounds though 2025. Due to COVID-19 concerns, this years event which would have been the 13th,   had to be cancelled.  The popular four-day bluegrass and American musical festival is the single largest tourist even held annual in Allegany County attracting crowds of 30,000 plus. The action item on the commissioners Thursday’s agenda calls for the use of the fairgrounds for the Memorial Day weekend festival from 2023 through 2025. The bluegrass legend himself , Del McCoury, told WCBC News that while the family is very happy with the contract extension, they were greatly disappointed that this years event had to be cancelled…

Why is this so simple now but when Bill Valentine was involved it took months and Del almost walking from the table for the five year contract to signed. Then Dave Norman and Bill tried to smear Shade as the problem when it was the old man Valentine that fumbled the whole situation.

Because if you pay Dave Norman for enough ads like Valentine did then he will TRY and help you and attack your rivals but it usually backfires!!

Is it true the McCoury family has the right to refuse what type of events are held at the fairgrounds?
