County Approves Letter Of Commitment To Cover Infrastructure For Development Of Proposed Retirement Complex

The Allegany County Commissioners last week approved a letter of commitment to cover the infrastructure necessary for the development of a proposed retirement complex at the former Cumberland Chase location in Rawlings.  Last fall, area businessmen Jeff Metz and Dave Weimer, in conjunction with the county, announced plan to develop approximately 200 acres of land at the site to construct what they described as a comprehensive multi-faceted retirement complex. The goal is to break ground sometime this year. County Administrator Brandon Butler read the letter of commitment into the record….
