County Assessing Damage in Little Orleans Area

June 9th, 2014 by WCBC Radio

Allegany County Director of Emergency Services Dick Devore and his staff spent this morning touring the Little Orleans area to assess damage from last night’s severe thunderstorms.

The County was under a Tornado Warning for about an hour just after 6 PM.  County Commissioner Bill Valentine toured the Adams Road area and reported a number of trees had been uprooted.  There was also high water reported on Mile Lane last evening.

Devore told us that several basements were flooded as a result of the heavy rain, keeping residents and fire departments busy for several hours.
