Allegany County remains ready to offer resources, financial and otherwise, to the city of Cumberland to address the years old West Side bridge problems- but can’t do anything until the city and CSX solve the ownership issue is resolved. The city and CSX Transportation have been at odds over the three deteriorating bridges- Washington Street, Cumberland Street and Fayette Street- for many years with CSX not directly acknowledging ownership. Commissioner Bill Valentine says if the city could somehow claim ownership- the county could step in and provide some assistance…
