County Looking To Attract Attention Of Cyber Security And Biotech Firms

One of the top priorities of Delegate Jason Buckel heading into this year’s session of the Maryland General Assembly was to gain approval of expanded tax incentives that could be used to bring biotechnology and cyber security businesses to Western Maryland- and those goals were achieved.  Prior to the session Buckel said that billions of dollars are being spent on cyber security in Anna Arundel and Montgomery counties and it’s only fair that rural Maryland also reap some of those benefits. With that legislation now in the books, the Allegany County Commissioners are hoping to get a head start on other counties in recruiting cyber security and biotech firms. Commissioner Bill Valentine announced last week that the county will be sending letters to firms across Maryland as well as to neighboring states hoping to attract their attention…
