County Seeking To Purchase Bullet Proof Vests For Law Enforcement Using Gaming Proceeds

The estimated percentage of gaming proceeds coming to Allegany County from the Rocky Gap Casino Resort is projected to be $1.4 million. The County’s Director of Finance, Jason Bennett provided a brief overview during the regular meeting of the county commissioners.  The county entered into a deal prior to the casino’s opening in 2013 that allotted it 2.75 percent of gaming proceeds- although the commissioners are seeking assistance from the local legislative delegation to see that increased.  One new addition to the distribution list is $50,000 for law enforcement agencies to purchase bullet proof vests…
