Cox Comments on Inclement Weather Preparation

It's been an unseasonably mild winter to date, but before long freezing temperatures and snow will be hitting the region. Inclement weather is something that always creates a dilemma for the school superintendents who are charged with making the call on whether to postpone, delay of send kids to school when winter conditions hits.  During the regular meeting of the school board, Allegany County Superintendent David Cox provided a refresher on how the local system goes about making such decisions.  Cox said contrary to what many believe, there is a great deal of preparation, information sharing and networking that takes place that begins well before the first snow flake falls. He notes that its not only snow that can lead to delays or cancellations…
