Cox Comments on Status of Turf Renovations at Stadiums

New field surfaces are badly needed at both Greenway Avenue Stadium and Mountain Ridge High School Stadium- but with far less dollars than needed on hand, it will probably be a few years before the board begins the process in earnest. The school board needs roughly between $750,000  and one million dollars to replace the deteriorating artificial turf at Greenway. Turf at Mountain Ridge High School Stadium will also need replaced in coming years. Combined, the board will need $1.5 to $2 million for turf replacements. According to David Cox, superintendent of schools, the board currently has about $600,000 on hand…
