Cox Comments on Tough Decision on School Delays and Cancelations

February 27th, 2014 by WCBC Radio

It has been a difficult winter for local school systems with heavy snow and ice conditions and the wind chill often well below zero.  As a result kids have missed more than two weeks of class time- and more inclement weather is expected this week. Wind chills today (Thursday) could drop to minus 15. Allegany County School Superintendent Dr. David Cox said determining whether to delay or cancel a school day is without question one of the more difficult tasks the administration faces each year- and whatever the call, there will always be a large number of critics.
