Cox Fires Back After Candidates’ Forum Comments

Feeling he was unfairly criticized during a recent Allegany County Board of Education candidates forum- School Superintendent David Cox fired back Tuesday reading a prepared statement blasting the local attorney who raised the issue in question. During last week’s WCBC candidates’ forum, panelist George “Mac” McKinley, when asking a question about how each candidate would rate the performance of the superintendent, prefaced the question by referencing a 2009 case involving a Mountain Ridge teacher’s inappropriate relationship with a student. Cox says whether it was intentional or not, the suggestion from McKinley is that Cox bears responsibility for the incident.
