Allegany County Board of Education candidate Jim Smith, who prior to his retirement served as supervisor of personnel, accused the School Board this week of spending “beyond its means” and generally wasting money. School Superintendent Dr David Cox was a guest on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” on the morning following the candidates forum to address the accusation. Cox said he doesn’t see any waste in the system, as the board has been operating with a bare bones budget in recent years and in his opinion have been fiscally responsible:
