Officers responded to a residence on Virginia Ave.  for a report of a domestic disturbance.  Upon their arrival they made contact with the victim who advised that her roommate Gordon Joshua William Whitfield had assaulted her.  She stated that Whitfield became upset when his daughter came down to tell him goodnight.  He began to throw things and then went after another subject in the house.  The victim advised that she got between them to stop the assault when Whitfield grabbed her wrist pinning it against the wall.  He then left the area on foot.  The officer observed her wrist to be swollen and red.  A short time later Whitfield returned to the house and was arrested when officers arrived.  He was taken to the station where he was charged and processed.
