CPD Makes Assault & Burglary Arrests

On May 13, 2018, at 2:08 am, officers responded to the 400 block of Mechanic St. for a domestic assault.  Upon arrival officers found a male victim with minor injuries to his head from the assault. Officers spoke with the victim and the suspect, Lucia Davilla, age 26, of Cumberland.  Officers learned that Davilla and the victim had been involved in an argument. The argument escalated which ultimately resulting in Davilla striking the victim with a remote control.  Davilla was placed under arrest and charged with 2nd degree assault. She was later taken in front of the District Court Commissioner and released on her own recognizance.
 

Burglary

On May 13, 2018, at 10:42 am, officer from the Cumberland Police responded to the 200 block of Columbia Street for a burglary complaint.  Upon arrival they made contact with the victim who was upset. She explained that her child’s father came to the residence to exchanged custody.  She explained that once there he forced himself inside and was attempting to remove her property. Officer’s contacted Kevin Hupe, age 26, of Cumberland and learned that that he did not reside at the residence.  Hupe was placed under arrest and charged with 2nd degree assault and 4th degree burglary. He was later taken in front of a District Court Commissioner and released on his own recognizance.

Domestic Assault

On May 13, 2018, at 5:35 pm, officer responded to the Police Department for a complaint about a domestic assault.  Upon arrival officers contacted the victim and began investigating the complaint. Officers learned the victim and suspect Christopher Geiger, age 29, Cumberland, were in a verbal argument on May 12, 2018 over a cell phone.  The argument escalated and Geiger knocked the victim down on the sidewalk and began to drag her. Officer observed injuries to the victim consistent with her account of the events. Officer further learned that on May 13, 2018 the argument continued over the cell phone.  During this argument he victim was again assaulted by Geiger. After speaking with the victim, Officers responded to the 500 block of Avirett Avenue where the located Geiger and placed him under arrest for 2nd degree Assault. Geiger was later taken in front of a District Court Commissioner and released on his own recognizance.
